Fund Types
UNRESTRICTED GENERAL ENDOWMENT FUND
Gifts to the unrestricted general endowment fund provide broad support to the community. Because the donor places no restrictions on how income is used, this fund provides the Foundation's trustees with the most flexibility in grant making. The future will always present the community with new opportunities and challenges. Unrestricted funds position the Foundation to meet theses challenges and support new opportunities.
Gifts to the unrestricted general endowment fund may be made by anyone in any amount. Named unrestricted general endowment funds are available for contributions of $5,000.00 or more.
FIELD OF INTEREST FUND
These funds support a specific area of interest to the donor, such as education (scholarships), the arts, youth services, the elderly or disabled. The Foundation uses income from these funds to benefit programs or organizations within the field of interest specified by the donor. A minimum gift of $5,000.00 is required to establish a field of interest fund.
DESIGNATED CHARITABLE AGENCY FUNDS
Gifts to these funds assure support will be provided to specific eligible organizations named by the donor. If any of these organizations should cease to exist or operate, the Foundation trustees will continue the donor's charitable objectives. A minimum gift of $5,000.00 is required to establish a designated charitable agency fund.
ORGANIZATION ENDOWMENT FUNDS
These funds are established by a nonprofit organization contributing funds to provide current income and long-term security to its own operations. A minimum gift of $5,000.00 is required to establish an organization endowment fund.
PROJECT FUNDS
Project funds are received from donors for a short-term charitable project (normally less than 24 months). Funds for this purpose are not endowment funds. Unless otherwise specified, project funds will be depleted as the designated project is finished. A project fund may not be less than $5,000.
OPERATING FUND
This fund provides for the ongoing support and administration of the Paulding County Area Foundation.
