Funds Held Within the Foundation

Paulding County Area Foundation is honored to carry out the charitable interests of our donors. We are truly grateful to the individuals, families, businesses, and non-profit organizations who establish funds within the Foundation.

 

Anonymous Donor: Two graduating seniors from the three schools will each receive $1000.00 from an anonymous donor. A preference will be given to those in an agricultural field and/or will be returning to Paulding County upon graduation from his/her university.

 

Bargain Bin of Paulding County Benefit Fund: The Bargain Bin of Paulding County opened at their new facility in January of 2017. All proceeds from the Bargain Bin benefit the Paulding County Hospital. The fund was established to build and continue with improvements for years to come.

 

Brian E. Myers Scholarship Fund: The fund was established by family and friends in memory of Brian Myers. A Wayne Trace High School senior furthering his/her education in agriculture and/or attending The Ohio State University will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship.

 

Caring and Sharing Food Pantry Project Fund: Resources from the project fund of the Food Pantry are to be used for the construction and maintenance of a community food pantry in Paulding County.

 

Darwin “Hook” McClure Fund for Young Farmers: Resources in the fund are to be used to support programs that benefit young farmers for the betterment of their farming operations or knowledge and skills.

 

Dianne L. Cooper – Bobcat Community Service Award: A $1000.00 scholarship established by the children of Dianne Cooper will be awarded annually to a former Oakwood student and graduate of Paulding High School who places an importance on and demonstrates a desire to be of service to the community in which he/she lives.

 

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Paulding, Ohio Fund: Resources from the Fund can be used for any purpose that is agreed to by the grant committee of the Paulding County Area Foundation and the Board of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Paulding, Ohio.

 

Friends of First Responders: The fund is a project fund with resources assisting for the maintenance and repair of a training facility for first responders serving Paulding County.

 

Friends of the Black Swamp Nature Center: Friends of the Black Swamp Nature Center was established to provide for continuous improvements to the trails, grounds and building of the Black Swamp Nature Center, allowing residents of Paulding County to enjoy a natural area providing a sense of recreation and education to those who visit.

 

Friends of the Fair-Building for the Future: The Friends of the Fair was established to raise funds to build and maintain three new livestock barns on the Paulding County Fairgrounds, now a maintenance fund.

  • Horse Barn Fund – resources within the project fund will be used to maintain the Horse Barn located on Paulding County Fairgrounds.

  • Cattle Barn Fund – Resources within the project fund will be used to build/maintain the cattle barn located on the Paulding County Fairgrounds.

  • Rabbit Barn Fund – Resources within the project fund will be used to build and maintain a new rabbit barn located on the Paulding County Fairgrounds.

 

Friends of the Grover Hill Library Fund: The fund was established for support of the Grover Hill Library of the Paulding County Carnegie Library. The funds will be used for utilities and maintenance of the building.

 

Friends of the Paulding County Senior Center Fund: Resources in the fund are to assist Paulding County Senior Center with the support of meals and transportation programs providing for senior citizens of Paulding County.

 

General Endowment Fund: Gifts to the unrestricted general endowment fund provide broad support to the community with no restrictions on how income is used. Named unrestricted general endowment funds are available for contributions of $5,000 or more.

 

Greg Troyer Memorial Scholarship: Resources from the Fund are to provide two $500 scholarships to seniors graduating from Paulding High School. The students selected shall be pursing post-secondary education in an agriculture or business/finance field.

 

Grover Hill Welcome Park Endowment Fund: The Grover Hill Welcome Park Endowment Fund has been established to raise funds for capital improvements; as well as maintenance projects for the long-term benefit of Grover Hill Welcome Park.

 

Hey Buddy Scholarship Fund: The scholarship fund was established by family and friends in memory of Robbie Seffernick. The scholarship will provide for a $1,000 scholarship to a Wayne Trace graduating senior who exhibits the qualities of Robbie – demonstrating his work ethic and traits.

 

John Paulding Historical Society, Inc. Endowment Management AgreementPaulding County Area Foundation will provide for the Endowment Fund of John Paulding Historical Society. The funds created shall be used exclusively for the operation of John Paulding Historical Society, as well as the continued provision of services to the community.

 

LifeWise Academy Paulding County, Ohio Support Fund: This fund is a field of interest project fund. Resources from the LifeWise Academy Fund are to be used to assist the LifeWise Academy activity in Paulding County, Ohio in buying supplies and curriculum, and covering overhead expenses such as salaries, rent, utilities, and insurance.

 

Marriage Support Fund: The Marriage Support Fund is to provide scholarships through the Paulding County Ministerial Association to allow married couples to attend a Family Life and Weekend to Remember Event.

 

Nathan Plummer Scholarship Fund: The fund was established in memory of Nathan Plummer. The scholarship is awarded to a Paulding County college student who has been active in the Paulding County Fair.

 

Norman E. and Myrna E. Cook Endowment Fund: The income from the fund will be used and directed by the Revocable Living Trust established by Norman and Myrna Cook and distributed according to the By-Laws of Paulding County Area Foundation.

 

Oakwood Fire Department Project Fund: The project fund is to be used for the funding of emergency supplies and for fire prevention activities.

 

Oakwood Library Association Endowment Fund: The Oakwood Library Association Endowment Fund was established for the support and operation of the Cooper Community Library serving the Oakwood community.

 

Oakwood Rescue Fund: Resources from this fund will be used to assist Oakwood Ohio EMS in providing special events for the children of the community.

 

Partners of Paulding County Park District Fund: The project fund was established to be used for the operations of improvements and construction of facilities on park grounds.

 

Paulding County 4H Project and Endowment Fund: Resources in both funds are for the support and operation of 4H, supporting the 4H youth in Paulding County.

 

Paulding County Fairground Endowment & Improvement Fund: The Paulding County Fairgrounds Funds were established to generate monies for the overall improvement of the Paulding County Fairgrounds.

 

Paulding County Ohio Sheriff’s Office Dare Fund: The fund is a project fund with resources being used for the funding of various DARE program activities conducted by Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, including but not limited to summer camps and the purchase of handouts and educational materials.

 

Paulding County Robotics Team Fund: The Paulding County Robotic Team Fund consists of a project fund and an endowment fund. Available resources in these funds will support members of the Paulding County Robotics Team in designing and building a robot that will meet the challenges put forth by FIRST Tech Challenge. Entry fees and travel costs associated with participating in related competitions will be supported by this fund.

 

Paulding Courthouse Heritage Fund: The Paulding Courthouse Heritage Fund was created by Stan and Barb Searing to provide funds to maintain the integrity and original design of the Courthouse with the goal to keep the Courthouse in good condition for future generations.

 

Paulding Exempted Character Academy Fund: Resources from the Character Academy Fund are to be used to construct educational buildings near the Paulding Exempted Village Schools campuses in Paulding, Ohio and Oakwood, Ohio.

 

Robbie Seffernick Scholarship Fund: This scholarship fund was established in memory of Robbie Seffernick. A Vantage scholarship will be presented annually to a welding student at the completion of his/her junior year. The scholarship will include a welding tool bag, as well as payment of welding certificate. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Wayne Trace graduating senior who plans to pursue a trade school or a post- secondary education.

 

Robert Brandt Scholarship Fund: The fund was established by the family of Robert Brandt, the founding Superintendent of Vantage Career Center. The scholarship is $1,000.00 and is awarded annually to a high school student.

 

Tammy Gibson Memorial Scholarship: The fund was established in memory of Tammy Gibson. The $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a Wayne Trace graduating senior going into any field of study.

 

Vantage Career Center Advanced Energy Scholarship/EDP Renewables/Horizon Wind Scholarship: The fund was established to provide scholarships related to the field of Alternative Energy. One $5000 or 2- $2500 scholarships will be provided annually to students enrolled in a training program affiliated with the Advanced Energy Academy pursing a post-secondary degree in this field.

 

Virginia Paulus-Iler Scholarship Fund: The scholarship fund established by the Paulus-Iler family will be awarded annually the sum of $1,000.00 to a graduate of Paulding High School entering their junior year of study at a university or college. The potential recipient must demonstrate financial need.
